The sun rises over the magestic Savannah Plains, with waves of grass and wild animals all around. The few trees stand tall with leaves beginning to sprout and giraffes reaching for the highest leaves. Lions yawn lazily on a sunwarmed rock nearby, too early to hunt. Birds sing a soft tune as the Zebra herds eat the fresh grass.

 

Nearby to the Zebras stands a lone female elf, her short brown hair whipping around her tanned face with two feathers at her right ear along with a long braid. A spear is ready at her side, her hand gripping it incase she needs to protect the herds. A stallion walks up to her and pushes her shoulder. The elf pets the side of the Zebra's head and looks back across the Savannah Plains.

 

Huts are spread out in front of her. Slowly, the skins covering the doors move aside and other elves come out, blinking to the light. They are starting their day just like the animals. A few jump onto Zebras and head off, shouting cries of excitetment of a hunt while others head towards the sea.

 

The female elf smiles contently and mounts her stallion. This is their home, their safe haven...

 

This is the Heart of the Plains.
